All Are for Human Welfare
Nasreddin and his wife were going home from the market. Each of them rode on a donkey's back. They had a small discussion while they were riding home slowly.
Nasreddin said, "From time to time, I was really astonished by the creation of the universe. And all of the things in the world were created for the human welfare."
"Can you give me a proof for you opinion?" asked his wife.
"Think of this donkey. It was created not to have any wings. It's for human welfare," said he.
"How can you say that this slow donkey is for the human welfare. If it was created with a pair of wings, of course, we would have arrived at home," his wife argued.
"See it from the other side. Imagine that all donkeys had a pair of wings. How would they be fond of perching on our roofs. And when they waved their wings, oh, how many roofs would be damaged?" said Nasreddin.
His wife was silent. They felt very hot and thirsty. Then they took a rest under a big cherry tree. And not far from there he saw a garden of water melons. He wanted to take some of water melons. But the remembered the discussion with his wife about the creation of this universe.
He wondered how a big tree, like the cherry tree, can give small fruits only. On the other hand, the weak and small tree that creeps on the land can give a big fresh fruits like water melons. He just thought about it and did not ask his wife about it.
When he was thinking about it deeply a cherry dropped onto his nose. He was surprised. Even though it was a small cherry but he felt the pain on the nose.
"I know now," said he, "That's the reson why this big tree only has small fruits. If it had fruits as big as water melons, I would have broken my head. It's right that these all are for human welfare."
